From a rural upbringing to Penn State adventures, her journey led her to transform a historic Victorian house into the charming haven you know today.

Get ready to be regaled with captivating tales of Nancy’s escapades, and many encounters with fascinating guests from all walks of life. Nancy’s love for travel and insatiable curiosity will inspire your own adventures, while her homemade breakfast and welcoming spirit will make you feel right at home.

Where it all Started

Nancy’s formative years were spent in the quiet countryside, where a farmhouse without modern amenities and a one-room schoolhouse shared with her mother fostered a deep connection to simpler times. In 1963, she set off for Penn State University, initially aspiring to a career as a global ambassador. However, the prevailing gender norms of the era steered her toward a path in home economics.

It was 50 years ago when Nancy, her son, and former husband moved into a haunted house on Linn Street. They planned to fix it up and trade it for land to live the hippie dream. Life had other plans, and with the help of a new husband, Curt Miller, The Queen was painstakingly restored to her original splendor, and Bellefonte’s beloved bed and breakfast was born.

A Life of Adventure

Nancy’s Bellefonte chapter is just one part of her vibrant story. From catching waves in Cape May to navigating city life in Boston, and even delving into the heart of Detroit as a police intern, her diverse experiences have woven a rich tapestry of understanding and empathy for people from all walks of life.

The Queen’s Storied Past

The Queen’s guest book reads like a collection of short stories, each visitor adding a unique chapter. From conversations with Amazon executives to heartfelt exchanges with the son of a notorious figure, from the poignant stories of Holocaust survivors to the dreams of aspiring authors, every encounter has enriched my life and ignited a wanderlust to explore the world even further.
