Every year on Martin Luther King Day, I ask myself "Where was I?" I should have been there. I should have marched. I was living in Detroit in 1967 just before the riots began. Shortly after that I left the country for a few years and learned of the assassination of Martin Luther King on Japanese TV. I finally walked the Montgomery Freedom Trail in 1997. In honor of Martin Luther King and all those who marched with him and died with him, The Queen is offering a Free night stay on Martin Luther King Day for anyone who stays two additional nights before or after Martin Luther King Day.
